Brave New World Book Review #8

In Brave New World, Aldous Huxley, the author of the book is trying to give us a vision of a perfect world with perfect people, who are genetically bred to serve orders. A great work of fiction that has excited terrified readers through time.
In this book you will find about how people don’t have families, religion, or feelings. Huxley’s showing how people take drugs everyday as we do today to prevent unhappiness and how people are having sex without feelings.
John, the main character was raised in a reservation in New Mexico. He met Lenina and Bernard at the reservation and returned with them to the New World. While John was in the New World he tried to stop people from taking soma, a drug they used to be happy, and it didn’t work. Finally John fell in love with Lenina but he knew that it wasn’t right to have feelings.
In Brave New World it’s chilling and sometimes an accurate view of the present day. This book gives exaples of how people are using drugs and they create differents society classes of people. Today's world we also have society clases of rich or poor people and we use drugs. I encourage people to read this book and find out what happens with John and Lenina with their feelings of love.

Article Review #7

The GPS device it's a great method to encourage kids go to school, but parents should cooperate by helping them with this new concrpt.

The program only costs $8.00 dollars per day instead of losing $35.00 dollars per day for each absent student. The program can pay for itself and more if students return to class consistently.
It will help parents of truant students save up to $2,000 dollars fines of juvenile hall.
The program also will help parents with their responsibilities to send their kids to school.

Restaurant Review #6

I usually don't go too often to eat at Mexican Restaurants because I like to try different types of food like, Italian, Asian, American, or Chinese. One of my favorite restaurant that I only go for Chinese food is called "China Star". It's located in Overland Park, Metcalf 95th Street, which is a little far from were I live but, it's worth it. They have a variety of Chinese dishes to choose from. The food is served buffet style. The Food is fresh and hot, there're many desserts to choose from including cookies, fruits, ice cream and I really like chinese donuts. The prices are $6.95 for lunch, and $8.75 after 4:00pm, for kids depends on their age for example if their age is two years old it would be $2.00. It's a frendly restaurant with nice chinese employees.
It's open seven days a week from 11:00am-10:30pm. It's very clean, with fast employees.
I really recomend people to take their family and enjoy a variety of chinese dishes.

Irony Post #5

In this Brave New World people having sex with anyone they pleased without being married, they don't have families, nor religion, and no feelings.

This is an example of Dramatic Irony

Huxley's irony purpose is trying to make us know that young people are having sex at a early age.
Families are cheating on each other without feelings.

Movie Review # 4

Chronicles of Narnia; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

This movie was kind of long and boring. There is a sense throughout the movie that there's no real point of what is occurring. The novel doesn't  translate well to a motion picture.
At the beginning of the movie it started with a good opening fantasy with the three kids being magically transported to Narnia. They sailed on the ship to explore the Eastern seas.
This movie was on 2-D and 3-D that's kind of cool but it didn't improve much in 3-D. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was unremarkable and somewhat boring trip. There's no advantange of watching this movie, it really doesn't teach anything about real life.

POW #3

This picture was very important to me as a mother.  This was my two year old daughter Gloria's second Halloween Party. She was so excited to wear her witch costume. We went to our neighborhood to get candy but it was a little cold. This moment was so important to me because she is learning american traditions.
